Chlorine gas has been used by the flour milling industry since the early 1900's to enhance baking characteristics by lowering the pH of certain types of flour. Because of the micro-treatment rates, it is essential that chlorine gas dispensing units – chlorinator – be accurate and reliable. The hazardous properties require that the chlorinator be designed with operation safety a priority.
